Nordisk is a non-profit mutual association. Its members enter individual vessels or other units, either owned or chartered.
At the end of 2011, the number of units entered was 2,214. The total tonnage entered was approximately 57 million gross tons.
The number of new cases reported in 2011 was 2,012.
Most of the ocean-going fleet operated by Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish interests is covered by Nordisk, as well as vessels operated from elsewhere in Europe, Singapore, the USA and several other countries.
The units entered with Nordisk represent most types of tonnage, such as bulk carriers, oil, chemical and gas tankers, passenger vessels, ro-ro ferries, car carriers, container vessels, offshore service and supply vessels, as well as drilling rigs, accommodation platforms and FPSO units. Units entered may also consist of tonnage under construction.
