We are pleased and proud to announce that Trond Solvang has recently obtained a doctorate degree (dr.juris) from the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo.
His thesis, of 500 pages, is in English translation called "Delay in port - risk allocation in voyage chartering". In his thesis, which was very well received, Trond puts the law of chartering in a broad contract law context, comparing Scandinavian and English legal concepts and methods of analysis. He also discusses what the result would be if English case law on charterparties were to be"merged" with traditional Scandinavian legal thinking.
